Your Shot photographer Alireza Akbari took this photo of a Holi celebration in Mathura, India. “It was the beginning of a colorful war, and each person was a lone ranger who was carrying a bag full of colorful powder,” he remembers. “They were throwing that powder to bless each other as a welcoming celebration to spring.”

The sun rises on the Avenue of the Baobabs in Morondava, Madagascar, where more than 200 of the majestic trees grow along a mile and a half stretch of road. In the huts reside local craftsmen who make wooden souvenirs to sell to tourists who visit this popular destination.
